Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler, born September 16th 1971, is an American comedian, actress and writer. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and ImprovOlympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996 and their show became a half-hour sketch-comedy series on Comedy Central in 1998. Along with the other members of the comedy troupe, Poehler is the creator of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
In 2001, Poehler joined the cast of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. She was named co-anchor for the show's Weekend Update from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, she played Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation.
